Either there must be a deflector or Peau de béton must be placed at least 16" from the upper edge of the fireplace window

No, Silex element products cannot be installed outdoors. They are designed for interior application only!
- Peau de Béton | raw finish is a fiber cement panel covered with a thin layer of concrete handcrafted in Montreal. It is thin, ultralight, durable and resistant to fire and moisture. It has a similar look and feel to "real" concrete.
- Peau de Béton | metal finish is a fiber cement panel covered with a thin layer of concrete that has a metallic appearance. This metal finish is achieved through a mixture of recycled and natural metal dust.
- LightConcrete is a fiber cement panel covered with a microlayer of concrete.
- The waxed concrete coating is composed of very fine mortar and is colored by pigmentation.

It is important to use a construction glue that is not water-based to install Silex element panels.
Silex Element recommends the use of the Adbond Extreme 5692 adhesive to fix their panels to a support. It is available toorder here.
